OnePlus Nord CE vs Redmi Note 10 Pro Max: Compare
The hype train travels at warp speed whenever a new OnePlus phone is released. With the Nord CE, OnePlus is attempting to reach a broad audience by offering a package geared toward young customers;or at least that’s what its advertising might have you believe! The original Nord, which is still adored by many, has been significantly watered down into the Nord CE.The cost remains comparable to that of the OG Nord.
That raises a concern:How much more important are OnePlus and 5G to you than the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max?The Redmi phone appears to be more affordable, has better features that are important right now, and has adequate fundamentals. Is that a big deal that it doesn’t support 5G?
Although our review of the Nord CE has not yet been published, we compare it to our hero in the sub-Rs 20,000 category to determine whether it is worth purchasing.
OnePlus Nord CE vs Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
Design
Design is a personal thing, so I’ll let you decide for yourself. The OnePlus Nord CE is a hurrah to the plans of bygone eras with a pill-formed back camera bump and an insignificant plan.Despite the plastic unibody construction, it appears to be simple, and OnePlus appears to have most things right. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the OnePlus Alert Slider has been removed. There is only one cutout on the display for the front camera, and the bezels are small.
In comparison, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is extravagant. It has a glass rear body and chunky camera parts that hang out like an expensive phone, giving it heft.Either a reflective glossy finish or a smudge-free matte finish are possible thanks to the glass. This phone’s character is enhanced by the chrome inserts. The display has a small cutout for the front camera and bezels that are small.
Display
Although both phones have AMOLED displays, the Redmi has a larger 6.7-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits of peak brightness. The OnePlus Nord CE gets a more modest 6.4-inch show with just 90Hz invigorate rate. However, while the Redmi has a power key-mounted fingerprint sensor, the Nord CE has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Specifications
The OnePlus Nord CE is the more powerful of the two phones in this comparison, but only by a small margin due to its lower price. On benchmarks, the Nord CE’s Snapdragon 750G may outperform the Redmi’s Snapdragon 732G.However, these two are not much different in real-world performance. These chips were so different that mobile gamers could barely tell them apart. When compared to phones with Snapdragon 732G processors, smartphones with Snapdragon 750G chipsets have shown little to no improvement in their gaming performance.
The primary contrast is 5G help:The 732G does not, whereas the 750G does.On the Nord CE, however, OnePlus only provides support for a single N78 5G band.Users in India will have to hope that the N78 band is supported since 5G has not yet arrived.More 5G bands are supported by cheaper 5G phones like the Realme 8 5G and Oppo A74 5G.
Software is another difference between these two.Based on Android 11, OnePlus’ OxygenOS 11 is installed on the Nord CE:an experience that fans and critics alike adore. The spotless idea of the operating system with least visual show and elegant customization choices truly do interest numerous yet OnePlus has fired setting up a greater amount of its first-party applications nowadays.
Additionally, the update process for OnePlus devices is no longer the same as it was in the past. With Android 11, the Redmi runs Xiaomi’s MIUI 12.5, which comes with a plethora of customization options and visual flair. It’s up to you whether you like it or not, but MIUI is unquestionably a feature-rich experience that can be tailored to any need.
The Nord CE 5G lacks the stereo speaker setup of the Redmi, which gives it an advantage. Both have USB-C ports for charging and data transfer, as well as headphone jacks.
Battery
The Nord CE has a 4500mAh battery that can be charged quickly with 30W;OnePlus claims a 30-minute 0-70 percent journey. We were impressed by the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max’s close to two-day battery life, despite the fact that its endurance remains to be determined. With the assistance of a smart MIUI, the 5020mAh battery can effectively conserve power. Also, fully charging the 33W fast charger takes about an hour.
Cameras
Our attention has been drawn to the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max ever since it was introduced due to its impressive camera performance. The 5-megapixel macro camera makes itself more useful than ever, while the 108-megapixel camera can do amazing things in good lighting. The 8-megapixel super wide camera is fair and the profundity camera works really hard alongside calculations to concoct gorgeous representation photographs.
The Nord CE 5G is inferior only on paper. It has a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a third camera that only captures color. We haven’t tried this yet, but the setup doesn’t seem to be as flexible as the Redmi. This may come across as inadequate if the Nord’s cameras are any indication of the past.Stay tuned for our Nord CE 5G camera review here.
Price
The base Redmi Note 10 Pro Max model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs Rs 18,999.The Nord CE 5G base model from OnePlus comes with the same 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for a price of Rs 22,999.In fact, the highest-end model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is available for Rs 2,000 less than the base Nord CE.
Conclusion
For the time being, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max has a clear advantage over the OnePlus Nord CE 5G when comparing specs.Although the Nord CE has 5G and a more advanced Snapdragon 750G chip, India does not yet have 5G.In addition, despite being less expensive, the Redmi has a better display, better build, a more versatile camera setup, a larger battery, and faster charging. The Redmi’s price tag is topped off by the Nord CE’s higher cost.
Therefore, if you are considering purchasing the OnePlus Nord CE, you should reconsider and determine a question:Do you really require OnePlus branding and 5G?In addition, look out here soon for our comprehensive Nord CE 5G review.
