Ten new laptop CPUs based on the Tiger Lake architecture have been released by Intel.These brand-new CPUs are intended for professionals and gamers.The company promises desktop-quality performance with up to 19 percent improved generation-to-generation multithreaded performance with these new CPUs.
The 11th Generation Tiger Lake CPUs for thin and light laptops are joined by these new H-series CPUs.Core i9 and Core i7 models with eight cores each, six-core Core i5 models, and two Xeon W-series models are all part of the brand-new 11th Gen family of H-series CPUs.There is support for Intel’s vPro business platform on five of these CPUs.Additionally, they include a brand-new Thread Detection Technology and Control-flow Enforcement Technology capabilities that will assist in protecting users from crypto-mining and ransomware attacks.
The company’s 32 execution units, UHD Graphics integrated GPU based on the Xe-LP architecture, is paired with each of these new 11th Gen CPUs.The Willow Cove core architecture, which is based on the company’s own 10nm SuperFin process, is used in all of the new Tiger Lake processors.Support for a fast NVMe SSD and high-bandwidth discrete GPU are among the platform’s 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes.Laptops will also be able to use the built-in secondary displays thanks to the new Dual EDP graphics pathways.
The platform is compatible with DDR4-3200, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4.
The company says that because of all these new CPUs, there will be more 17-inch gaming laptops with resolutions of at least 1080p or 1440p and a 360Hz refresh rate.
What does the top end 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake CPU offer?
The company says that its most expensive Intel Core i9-11980HK processor is the best mobile gaming processor in the world and will power laptops for “halo enthusiasts.”The CPU is completely unlocked and can be overclocked, but OEMs may limit it based on the enclosure and cooling system.
It has 24 MB of L3 cache memory and eight hyperthreaded cores.It has a 65W configurable TDP and a base frequency of 2.6GHz and a top frequency of 3.3GHz.Using the company’s own Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology, it can also reach 5GHz on two cores.
Laptops to use these chips
According to Intel, OEMs will soon announce over 80 laptops with these new chips, the majority of which are anticipated to be gaming offerings.It is anticipated that the discrete GPUs Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti will power the majority of these offerings.
