As promised, Samsung recently unveiled its flagship Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Similar to their predecessors, these feature 6.1-inch and 6.6-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O flat displays with an adaptive refresh rate of 48-120Hz. However, they now have brightness levels of up to 1750 nits.

These are powered by Samsung’s brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which has a clock speed of 3.36 GHz. This is significantly higher than the 3.2 GHz clock speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor found in other smartphones. There are no Exynos versions this time. Both models now feature cooling in the vapor chamber.
The phones run Android 13 with OneUI 5.1 and have an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner built right into the display. The phone has three cameras on the back, but no cutouts this time. These are the first smartphones with the brand-new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, as well as having an armor-aluminum frame.

The phones have a 50-megapixel Dual Pixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. These also include a brand-new 12-megapixel Dual Pixel front-facing camera with an AI object-aware engine. Also, you can shoot 8K videos with these. Because both devices are powered by cutting-edge VDIS technology, which reduces vibrations to a minimum, you can enjoy smooth, sharp video even when you’re moving around.

The S23+ is capable of Ultra-wideband (UWB). The IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance are included with both phones. The Galaxy S23 has a 3900mAh battery that can be charged quickly at 25W, while the Galaxy S23+ has a 4700mAh battery that can be charged quickly at 45W. Wireless charging of 10W and reverse wireless charging are available on both phones.
