Along with longer battery life, the Intel Lakefield processors have a package area that is 56% smaller and board sizes that are up to 47% smaller.

Lakefield processor

Intel recently introduced its brand-new Intel Lakefield processors featuring Intel Hybrid Technology. The new processors will permit the organization to rival ARM processors. The performance of a hybrid CPU and Intel’s Foveros 3D packaging technology are combined in the Lakefield mobile processor.Because of this, the setup has a small form factor, making it possible for businesses to use the chip in devices that are smaller.

The new processors, which are based on the 10nm process, have a smaller standby power as well as a smaller area and height than previous chipsets.Along with longer battery life, the Intel Lakefield processors have a package area that is 56% smaller and board sizes that are up to 47% smaller.Despite this, Windows 10 is still fully supported by the new processors.Additionally, the processors’ native dual internal display pipes make them ideal for dual-screen devices, a growing tech trend.

Intel Lakefield processor features

Hardware-guided OS scheduling is a feature of the Intel Lakefield processors that enables real-time communication between the CPU and the OS scheduler to select cores for specific applications.Single-thread performance can be up to 12 percent faster and up to 24% better with this hybrid CPU architecture.

In addition, the chip is able to support high-throughput interference applications thanks to the adaptable GPU engine. These applications include AI-integrated implementations like image upscaling. It is also claimed that the Gen11 graphics will perform up to 1.7 times better. This supports up to four external 4K displays and speeds up the conversion of video clips by 54%.Additionally, Intel LTE and Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) are supported, allowing for seamless online streaming and video conferencing.

This year, at least two devices include the new Intel Lakefield processors. These are the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Book S, both of which were unveiled at CES 2020.The Galaxy Book S is anticipated to be available later this month, and both machines will be available later in 2020.
