During the I/O 2021 developers conference, Google announced a partnership with Samsung to develop wearable devices.Under the organization, the organizations will team up to blend Samsung’s Tizen working framework with Google’s Wear operating system to make another overhauled working framework for wearables, called Wear.
Although Samsung has stated in a statement to Protocol that it will continue to use the Tizen platform on its Smart TVs, this collaboration means that Tizen will no longer be available on the Galaxy Watch series.
Samsung’s Tizen operating system has been modified to work with televisions on all Smart TVs.However, after Google made the partnership public, a lot of people were concerned that Samsung might abandon its current Smart TV line and switch to a different TV software, which was not far off.Samsung was reportedly considering adding a swatch to the Android TV platform, according to rumors.Protocol, on the other hand, has been informed by Samsung that “Tizen still is the default platform for our smart TVs going forward.”
Samsung intends to continue competing with Google’s Android TV in the smart television market despite the fact that the partnership between Google and Samsung does not include merging Tizen and Android TV.
